Set up FiveWatch

Connect your Discord server, apply for approval and give authorised moderators private access to community checks and evidence-backed reports.

STEP 01

Invite the bot

Select the Discord server you manage and approve the requested permissions. You must have permission to add applications to that server.

The bot only requests access to view channels, send messages, use embeds, read its existing channel messages and provide slash commands.

STEP 02

Register your community

Enable Discord Developer Mode, right-click the server icon and choose Copy Server ID.

STEP 03

Wait for approval

Your application is reviewed by central FiveWatch staff. Bot checks and report submissions remain unavailable until the community has been approved.

STEP 04

Configure staff access

Community managers can open Manage access on the dashboard and enter separate Discord role IDs for checks and reports. If no roles are configured, the bot uses Moderate Members. Server managers and administrators retain access.

DISCORD COMMANDS

Commands for approved communities

/fivewatch-set-channel: Allows a server manager to select the private staff channel where check results will be posted.
/fivewatch-set-stats-channel: Creates the live-statistics embed in a selected channel and automatically refreshes the same message.
/fivewatch-status: Confirms whether the current Discord server is approved and shows its configured checks and statistics channels.
/fivewatch-check: Checks a Discord user ID and posts the result into the community's configured staff channel.
/fivewatch-report: Submits a Discord user ID, category, factual summary and required evidence attachment for independent review.

REPORTING STANDARD

Submit useful evidence

Use factual language, explain what happened, identify when it happened and attach relevant original evidence. Do not submit rumours, retaliation reports or unrelated personal information.

IMPORTANT

A report is not a BOLO

Every report enters the FiveWatch review queue. Only central reviewers can approve it and create a BOLO. Receiving communities must still verify identity and make an independent, proportionate decision.

Need help? Confirm that the bot is in the same Discord server ID you registered, that the application is approved, and that the person running the command has the required Discord permission.
